Developmental principles

In order to reach the best result, its is necessary to get an overall picture of the chassis. Beside the selection of the special springs and the optimal dampers tailored to them, other components must also be taken into consideration and adapted when necessary. This is especially important in the case of additional springs (elastomer and rubber hollow springs). As a rule of thumb, this component is modified in hardness and length, so that the spring is not too compressed during lowering, thus affecting driving negatively (soft driving behavior).
A modified spring rate and even a different construction length may become necessary when lowering in order to reach homogeneity between all components (springs, dampers, additional springs). With the dampers, lengths (rebound length/housing length)are especially taken into consideration and adjusted as needed in order to guarantee initial spring tension, and legally required rest range of spring in unfavorable application circumstances.
