Between 2000 and nowadays

2002ZF Sachs AG and Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Co. Ltd. have signed an integration agreement.
The two companies had already founded a joint venture in 2002, Sachs Huizhong Shock Absorber Co. Ltd. (SHS). ZF Sachs will contribute to this company the passenger vehicle shock absorber production that it has previously done in one of its own plants. At the same time, Sachs will also assume the majority share of the joint company – a further step in ex-panding ZF Sachs‘ leading position on the Chinese shock absorber market.

Following a construction period totaling 21 months, ZF Sachs AG has now opened the extension to its Development Center located in the Schweinfurt Port. Staff and management of ZF Sachs AG celebrated the event with nearly 100 guests active in politics and business.

The new presentations at the 2002 Paris Motor Show clearly demonstrate that the CDC (Continuous Damping Control) system from ZF Sachs is a standard constituent of comfort and safety-oriented chassis designs. Electronically controlled damping systems from ZF Sachs are becoming standard.

Inauguration of the Technology Center for Metal working of ZF Sachs AG. Aditional 4,500 square meters stand now for the manufacturing of dual mass flywheel and torque converter components.

ZF Sachs AG was honored for the third time by General Motors as the worldwide best „Supplier of the Year 2001“.

ZF Sachs extends its production in Shanghai: The joint venture „Shanghai Sachs Powertrain Components Systems Company Ltd.“ started producing clutches and torque converters for automatic transmissions in Shanghai primarily supplying Chinese automotive manufacturers.

A joint venture agreement was signed in Schweinfurt by ZF Sachs AG and Horton Worldwide, the American fan clutch specialist.

Sachs strengthens its position in Asia through a joint venture agreement between Sachs and the Shanghai Automotive Industry Co. Ltd. (SAI) The planned venture, known as „Shanghai Sachs Powertrain Components Systems Company Ltd.“, will take over the clutch and converter activities of the Shanghai Clutch Factory (SCF) starting January 2002.

The joint venture „Sachs Korea Suspension Company Ltd“ takes over the shock absorber production of Kasco.

In addition, the „Sachs Automotive Japan Corporation“ was founded in Japan to promote sales by the Sachs Group worldwide to Japanese car manufacturers.
